Behind the Books - Deb Fitzpatrick

Posted by Sophie Mathewson on 20 January 2015 | Tags: , , , | 0 Comments

Many writers like to tuck themselves away in a quiet space to write or edit their novels. Not Deb Fitzpatrick. Deb is a people person. This was evident almost immediately upon meeting her. To begin with, Deb's work-space is a bustling open office above Kakulas Sister in the heart of Freo. The office is called F-Space, and is full of all kinds of creatives chatting over coffee and working on laptops. Deb works in a room full of books and loves to be surrounded by people and conversations. Deb also exudes an infectious energy and is happy to voice her opinion about almost anything (in a good way).

Deb recently edited our upcoming novel,Summer’s Gone’ by Charles Hall. She is also a writer (mostly YA novels), and has also just recently published her first adult fiction ‘The Break’.

Deb chatted to us about both these novels and her life as a writer/editor.

The video is complimented with images of the Margaret River region in spring.
